The Miistakis Institute was well-represented at the biennial North American Congress for Conservation Biology (NACCB) in Missoula, Montana in July.

The NACCB is a forum for presenting and discussing new research and developments in conservation science and practice, bringing together scientists, students, managers, decision-makers, writers and other conservation professionals from throughout North America.

Three Miistakis staff members - Danah Duke, Kim Good and Guy Greenaway - and super-summer-student, Emily Zink joined around 1000 other delegates in Missoula for a hot (37 degrees!) but informative and valuable conference.

For our contributions, Danah presented "The Role of Citizen Science in Community-driven Conservation", Kim presented "The Cost of Co-Existence: Economic Impact of Wildlife to Beef Producers", and Guy presented "Applying Climate Change Adaptation at the Local Level". All were well received and generated significant Twitter traffic during the conference.

We also got the chance to visit with partners whom we rarely see in person, meet new colleagues, connect with the media, and discover how others are approaching similar challenges as those we study.
