Welcome to our summer student Kaitlyn

Kaitlyn Squires is completing her final semester at Mount Royal University in the General Science program with concentrations in Biology and Geography. In addition to her major, Kaitlyn is also completing a Community Service-Learning designation, through which she is able to help the community through research and volunteering. After graduating, Kaitlyn wishes to pursue a career in the fields of sustainable development and conservation. So far this summer Kaitlyn has been primarily working on the Priddis Slough Wildlife Monitoring project researching the methodology of snow tracking, and on the Calgary Captured project analyzing the use of parks by off-leash dogs and researching the impact that such dogs have on wildlife. For both projects she has also been busy classifying species in the collected images. Kaitlyn is an avid nature lover, but can't figure out how to keep her tropical plants alive for very long. Her favorite hobbies include hiking, baking, and travelling. She is very excited to be working with the Miistakis Institute this summer!
